Should I Get Hemmorhoid Surgery? [Archive]
I, too, had hemorrhoid surgery …mmm…just about a month ago. And I’m still recuperating! I have faith that in the long run things will be much better….I’m hoping anyway. I do know that if I would have known what it was going to be like after the surgery, I probably would not have had it done. I have a pretty high tollerance of pain… so I thought! I bled a lot after each BM that I had for about week. That has subsided a lot. I still have some pain and soreness and will bleed a little when I have a BM now. Metamucil helps… but everyone is different. It’s kind of trial and error for how much you need to taken and how often. The whole thing just pisses me off sometimes! hehehehehehe….I’m sure you all know what I mean. I’m tired of my butt being the thing I think about most every day! I have pretty much grossed out my husband and friends by talking about it.
I originally went to the doctor because of a thrombosed hemorrhoid that had to be taken care of. That was a piece of cake compared to the surgery. Then….I was going to go in and have 2 small internal hemorrohoids taken off. The Doctor told me there wouldn’t be any pain because there are no nerve endings inside. Well.. the day I was supposed to have this done…he decided that he wanted to take off the three external hemorrohoids that I had because they happened to be a little swollen. Sooooo… needless to say…I wasn’t really prepared for this! He did it in the office… shot me with the shots to numb me… which didn’t help! Then used what I called the wood burning tool! Each time he was cutting…I could feel shooting burning pains. All he said was…don’t move, don’t move….and all I said was… okay…ow,ow,ow, I can still feel it…ow, ow, ow. What an ordeal.
I was supposed to go back 2 weeks later to have the internal hemorrhoids removed. I was just about hyperventilating when I went to his office. I was terrified to have anything more done. He examined me and said that where he removed the external hemorrhoids previously…was healing “nicely” and looked “beautiful”. BEAUTIFUL? I doubt it! heheheheh…at any rate… he got ready to do the internal hemorrhoids…and asked me if I wanted to have this done today…and I said, no. Just like that, no. I just couldn’t put myself through it. It probably wouldn’t have been so bad….but I was just about having an anxiety attack.
Well… there you have it. At any rate…I’m still healing. Harry… and Bill Magic specifically…. how long did you take to heal? I don’t mind the details. Really! I like to know your ordeals.
Take care….all of you!
